1 Corinthians 10:1-4
1I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, 2and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, 3and all ate the same spiritual food, 4and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.

In Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, he identifies Christ as the spiritual rock that provides spiritual food and drink to his people. Paul says that the Corinthians can also have that spiritual food and drink.
The Bible has many references to Christ as being the way and the life. In John verse 6, it states that “For my flesh is the true food and my blood is the true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me.” The apostles didn’t understand what he was saying; they didn’t know what they were to do.
What I feel is that Paul is telling the Corinthians, is to put aside your pagan idols and commit their lives to the rock of Christ, for through him is eternal salvation.
Prayer: Let us pray, Dear God, we recognize your mighty, glorious self and giver of life. Feed us and renew us with your spiritual food. Help us be your faithful followers. Amen.
