Our spring retreat will be this Saturday, April 26 to Sunday April 27. Here are the details:
I am excited about the Gustavus retreat and being with your kids!
I received an updated schedule from the college so I want to pass that on to you along with a “what-to bring/what-not-to-bring” list.
First, the weekend schedule for departing and returning to Peace:
- To get to St. Peter and Gustavus on time, we need to meet at Peace by 8:15am on Saturday, April 26th. We will be traveling by passenger van.
- We will return to Peace by 12:30pm on Sunday, April 27th. If for some unforeseen reason we are more than a few minutes later than that, I will contact you.
- You can contact me at any time at 612.805.8909.
Secondly, what will we be doing?:
- We will be a “church on the road.” That means a variety of activities. The college requires we take a campus tour early on. The pool and gym will be available to us (along with the cafeteria for meals). We’ll do some learning and worshiping. There will time to adventure around campus and get a sense of college life—all under the watchful eyes of Robin Kennedy and me.
Third, where will we be staying?
- We’ll be staying in campus housing.
Fourth, what to bring (and what not to bring):
- What to bring:
- Casual clothing: jeans, shoes, shorts, t-shirts, sweatshirts. (Take note of the weather).
- Separate work-out attired (if different than above).
- Sleepwear
- Sleeping bag
- Pillow (if needed)
- Toiletries (including a towel).
- Swimming suits
- Incidentals
- Money (Meals, transportation, entertainment are provided; snacks are not).
- Hats (?)
- Do not bring:
- Anything illegal.
- A steamer trunk sized suitcase or duffel bag. We’re only going to be gone one night!
- Anything you don’t want to lose (for example, your favorite piece of jewelry).
Last of all, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call me: (Church) 952.944.6510 and (Mobile) 612.805.8909 or Administrator, Lori Thomson: (Church) 952.944.6510 and (Mobile) 952.465.4168.
Thank you for your kids and thank you for your support of the retreat!
