Greetings from Peace Lutheran Church!
The summer is winding down and the energy is winding up! School programs are starting in our neighborhoods and church programs are starting in our congregations!
This Sunday we’ll be kicking off the coming year with our annual “Gathering Sunday” events. During worship, we’ll sing our songs, pray our prayers, share in the Lord’s Supper, and hear a word from Jesus about our call to be a community that’s grounded in the cross of Christ. We’ll also be officially installing our Transition Team, a group that will guide us through this time of a pastoral change in the days ahead.
But wait, there’s more! After worship the whole congregation is welcome to celebrate the start of the new year with lots of special treats and activities: balloon animals, glitter tattoos, chalk art on the sidewalk, lemonades, popcorn, sno-cones, and best of all… A BOUNCE HOUSE! Sure, most of this is geared toward the kids, but all ages are welcome to participate. (What?! You’ve never had a glitter tattoo?! Now’s your chance!)
See you Sunday morning!
God’s Peace,
Pastor Jeff Engholm
