Our Thanksgiving festivities last weekend have paved the way for our Advent activities to begin! Our Wednesday evening Midweek Suppers & Services have started…tomorrow we will be making lefse, krumkake, and decorating gingerbread houses…and our Sunday School kids have begun practicing for their Christmas program to be held after worship on December 14. Lots going on at Peace!
This Sunday morning will be the second Sunday in Advent, so we’ll be lighting the second candle of the Advent Wreath during our Children’s Message. We’ll also hear a story from the prophet Isaiah about a tiny green shoot growing out of a dead stump – a sign of new life for all! After worship, our Adult Education Forum will be lead by Professor Rolf Jacobson from Luther Seminary who will be speaking about the season of Advent (along with leading us in a singalong!).
Additionally, please keep Carolyn Bergum and family in your prayers in the loss of her husband, Jim. His funeral is being held today at Peace. Looking forward to seeing you Sunday morning!
God’s Peace,
Pastor Jeff Engholm
