Dear Families and Friends of Peace,
There are still a few weeks of summer left, but on Saturday my final big commitment of the season was completed when I went up to Camp Wapo for the final time.
And it was a great summer! Together we enjoyed Family Camp at Wilderness Canoe Base, Vacation Bible School with Community of the Cross, the ELCA National Youth Gathering in New Orleans, Camp Wapo Youth Camp, and Camp Wapo Seeds. Thank you to everyone who participated!
Now—while still enjoying summer—fall planning and preparation is well underway, which included meetings with the Children, Youth, and Family Committee on Monday and the Peace staff on Tuesday.
In the next couple weeks, fall registration will open for Sunday School and Confirmation, and additional schedules for high school ministry, 20-30 Somethings, and monthly CYF will be publicized as well.
In the meantime, please started prayerfully considering how you and your families will participate and engage in our congregational ministries as we continue “growing a community that nurtures a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.”
And, for those of you who are particularly interested in supporting the younger generations of Peace, we need you! Adults and students (Grade 6+) are invited to help Peace kids grow in faith and community through our Sunday School program (Sundays 10:45-11:45am). Teachers lead 2x/month and substitutes 1x/month, and lessons are prepare for you in advance.
In addition, we are looking for additional adult leaders and student leaders (Grade 10+) to help with our Confirmation program (Wednesdays 6:30-7:30pm).
We hope you’ll consider these great opportunities—please contact me at [email protected] if you’re interested and/or would like more information!
Grace and Peace, Joe
