Peace is governed by a church council comprised of nine elected members of the congregation who serve three-year terms and the church’s pastoral leadership. The Church Council meets monthly on the third Tuesday of the month.
Council minutes are taken each month and are available if members would like to see them. If you would like copies of the minutes, please call the office at 952-944-6510 or email Lori Thomson.

Tom is serving his first term as a Peace council member. He has been a resident of Bloomington since 1991 after many years of living in Crystal and attending Lutheran Church of the Master in Brooklyn Center. Josh has been attending Peace since moving to the Twin Cities in 2014. He was drawn in by the vibrant music ministry that has led to him singing in the Peace Choir ever since. Growing up Josh enjoyed attending bible camp at Green Lake Bible Camp and singing in the Minnesota All State Lutheran Choir. So much so that in college he worked as a counselor at GLBC for one summer and MASLC for 4 summers. Josh has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Minnesota State University Mankato and a M.S in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Dakota and now works in new product development and design. This is Steve’s first term as a Council member. The Larson’s moved to Bloomington in 1985. They moved to their current home in 1993. Steve’s wife, Sue, started on the Peace staff in 2008 as Communications Specialist and then as Administrator. After Sue started working at Peace Church, we decided to officially join Peace.
Steve grew up in Biwabik, Minnesota, which is about 215 miles north of Bloomington. Steve’s Mother was 100% Italian, which meant Catholic. Steve went to the College of St. Thomas (before it went co-ed and became a university), earning an Accounting degree. After 5 years at National Car Rental, where he met Sue, he spent the next 36 years working at architecture/engineering firms. As CFO, he headed up Accounting, Human Resources, IT and most of the legal issues. He retired in 2020.
In his free time, Steve enjoys playing golf and pickleball. But his favorite activity is when he and Sue get to spend time with their grandson Colton! Steve and Sue have two daughters who live in the Twin Cities with their husbands.
