Dear Families and Friends of Peace,
As I mentioned last week, it is time to think about summer camps and programming.
Here’s what our schedule for summer 2024 looks like:
- June 20-23: Family Camp at Wilderness Canoe Base
- June 24-27: Vacation Bible School
- July 15-20: ELCA National Youth Gathering
- July 28-August 2: Camp Wapogasset Youth Camp
- August 2-4: Camp Wapogasset Seeds Weekend
Registration for Camp Wapo will be open January 15-February 15.
Plan to register early (link below), as spots fill up quickly!
We have a limited number of spots, and you’ll be assigned to a waitlist if we reach that number before the February 15 deadline. After February 15, any remaining open spots will be released to the public.
Camp Wapo provides students with the opportunity to come together with friends and neighbors from all across Minnesota and Wisconsin. Between the field games, water activities, Bible studies, and campfire worships, it is a fast-paced experience filled with fun.
Students currently in 1st-3rd Grade can attend the 3-day Seeds session, which costs $260 ($150 non-refundable deposit due at time of registration).
Students currently in 4th-8th Grade can attend the weeklong Youth Camp, which costs $650 ($150 non-refundable deposit due at time of registration).
Families of all ages and sizes, please also start discerning if you’d like to make Family Camp at Wilderness Canoe Base one of the highlights of your summer!
Wilderness Canoe Base is located 60 miles northwest of Grand Marais on the Gunflint Trail. During our extended weekend, families will have the opportunity to venture into the Boundary Waters while also enjoying the amenities of staying onsite at WCB’s base camp. Lodging and meals will be provided, and each day will include morning and afternoon activities that the whole family can enjoy. Registration details and costs can be found below.
Grace and Peace,
Joe
