Dear Families and Friends of Peace,
VBS begins on Monday, and it’s going to be an incredible week as we go deep sea diving in this year’s program, SCUBA! “Scuba” is our underwater-themed curriculum that has kids dive deep into an adventure full of faith-building fun.
Throughout the week, students will travel with their crews to different stations that help kids to grow personally, relationally, and spiritually.
- During our opening and closing sessions, we worship with upbeat songs that have lots of actions and talk through our Bible Point of the day.
- Awesome Bible Adventures is where kids are immersed in engaging Bible stories.
- Inventive crafts and creative experiments take place at the Imagination Station.
- Kids experience the Bible Point first-hand while playing and doing team-building exercises with their crew at Reef Rec Games.
- At Sticky Scripture, crews will watch a video that helps apply the Bible Point to their daily lives, and then they will complete a meaningful service project.
Each of these activities will help teach us and show us how to “Dive Into Friendship with God”!
For all of parents, volunteers, and participants, here are a few final instructions:
- VBS Volunteers, if you have not yet attended a mandatory volunteer training session, the last one will be offered on Sunday at CCLC at 10:45am.
- VBS Volunteers, plan to arrive at CCLC Monday morning by 8:30am.
- Parents, you may bring your children to CCLC starting at 8:40am on Monday morning to check in, receive Crew assignments, and pick up a t-shirt.
- Volunteers and Participants: Please wear your t-shirt each day of VBS!
- Parents, you’re also invited to join the kids for the closing program at 11:40am. Please be on time for pickup at noon—you’ll need to sign out your children with their Crew Leaders each day.
It’s going to be an awesome week, and we are so grateful to everyone helping to make it happen—kids, parents, volunteers, church staff members, and all of you who are praying for us. Thank you!
Diving into friendship with God,
Joe
