Dear Families and Friends of Peace,
Why does the Church matter? What makes it relevant and important for us—2000 years after the time of Jesus?
Our middle school students were invited to wonder about these questions last week as we discussed the Early Church and the New Testament. And while younger generations continue to be questioned—overly and unfairly—about their engagement in the church, they continue to show that God’s Spirit is alive and active within them.
According to our students, the Church is important because it teaches people about God and shares the Good News about Jesus. The Church builds relationships and community, and it brings people together. And as people worship and grow in faith together, they are filled with joy, hope, and purpose.
Can life in the Church sometimes be messy? Definitely. But is it in good hands? Absolutely!
Grace and Peace,
Joe
One Additional Note: The Sunday School Singers will be leading us in worship this weekend! Parents, please arrive on Sunday morning at 9:00am and have your students in the sanctuary, ready for a brief rehearsal, at 9:10am. Thank you!
