Dear Peace members and friends,
What a joyful Easter Sunday we had two weeks ago! And here’s the thing: the hope of Easter continues to happen. As I write these words, I’m getting ready to celebrate the life of Tom Gilmore’s mother, Joan. I’ll be reminding those who are present that Joan made the lives of people better wherever she was, and sharing with them the hope we have in Christ—“death has been swallowed up in victory.”
Yes, Easter continues! This Sunday in worship (9:30am), we’ll keep on talking about the implications for us of God raising crucified Jesus from the dead. I’ll have a sermon, “Living the Resurrection: Hands and Feet.” We’ll have a children’s message from Pastor Joe, we’ll share in the Lord’s Supper, and the Peace Choir returns and we’ll continue to sing Easter hymns. A good Sunday ahead!
Following worship in Adult Education (10:45am) we’ll have guest from the Alzheimer’s Association to present to us on the topic: “Understanding Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia.” Alzheimer’s disease is a degenerative brain disease and the most common form of dementia. Dementia is not a specific disease. It’s an overall term that describes a group of symptoms. Worldwide, 55 million people are living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Our guest will help us better understand these diseases. All are welcome!
And again, Easter keeps happening! And our gathering and our worship on Sunday will help us live into what it means to live as resurrection people.
See you Sunday!
Mark
