Dear Peace Community,
Greetings from Peace! As of today we are officially halfway through August – the summer continues to slip away! But there is still plenty of warmth (and even HEAT) for us in these “Dog Days of Summer.”
Our Transition Team has met TWICE now and continues to lay the foundation for our work ahead. Last Monday night we divided our work into various subcommittees (Communications Team, Written Survey Team, Listening Sessions Team) and we also elected our Co-Chairs, Emily Sidholm and Tammy Devine. Many thanks to you all for serving in this capacity!
This Sunday morning we’ll gather as we always do for singing, praying, reading of the Holy Word, and sharing of the Holy Meal. The scripture passage from Luke 12 will remind us that God’s passion for reaching out to all people is unstoppable, like a spreading fire that simply cannot be stopped. However, unlike a burning fire that brings only destruction, God’s fire of love brings hope and healing.
