E-Note February 27, 2026

Dear Peace Family and Friends,

Two weeks ago, we had a visit with Bishop Jen Nagel who walked through our Ministry Site Profile with us. This past Sunday, Pastor Jen Collins (Assistant to the Bishop) joined us for worship and then met with the Call Committee to talk about what to expect in the next steps. She will be returning at the end of next month to bring the names of prospective candidates. I simply want to mention this because we have reached a turning point in the Call Process – our attention is now shifting from an “internal focus” regarding the congregation and turning to an “external focus” regarding Peace’s next pastor. It will still take several months to read through the pastors’ profiles, select those who will be interviewed, and then schedule those interviews, but this is an exciting time for Peace Lutheran Church!

In the meantime, we will simply continue to do what we do: worship, pray, sing, and be of service to our neighbors, especially by collecting items for VEAP.

This week at worship we will hear the story of Nicodemus coming to Jesus in the dark of night. Afterward during the Adult Education Hour we will hear a presentation by Joe Sullivan, Regional Gift Planner for the ELCA Foundation. Joe will present a program called, “What Is Your Legacy?” and will give helpful planning tips regarding how people can pass on their philanthropic values to the next generation. And don’t forget that we’re gathering each Wednesday night for supper at 5:30pm and worship at 6:30pm as we walk together on our Lenten journey using “Holden Evening Prayer” as our guide.

God’s Peace,

Pastor Jeff Engholm
