E-Note January 2, 2026

Happy New Year!

Our Christmas celebrations are mostly behind us, gifts have been given and received, and the crystal ball on Times Square has dropped to usher in a new year.

Of course, since there are actually TWELVE Days of Christmas, we’re still celebrating the birth of our Lord until Epiphany on January 6th. Epiphany is also known as “Three Kings Day” when we celebrate the arrival of the three Wise Men who have followed the star to find the baby Jesus in Bethlehem bringing gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

I know that this Sunday is January 4th, two days before Epiphany, but we’ll have a little “Pre-Epiphany” observance as we learn a bit more about these men who traveled so far to find the newborn Messiah. (Were there really only three of them? And were they actually “kings” as the song says? And what were those strange gifts about? Let’s find out together!)

Join us for worship at 9:30am as usual, and then join us for fellowship afterward. We can share stories about the gifts we gave and received over the holidays, as well as share any resolutions that we’re making for the coming year.

Finally, in just a few weeks our “Peace Ambassadors” will be on a Mission Trip to Robin’s Nest Children’s Home in Jamaica. Would you please consider donating some items for this worthy cause? Scroll down for details or stop by the Robin’s Nest table in the narthex on Sunday! Thank you!

See you Sunday!

God’s Peace,

Pastor Jeff Engholm
