E-Note June 19, 2026

Dear Peace Lutheran Friends and Family,

We’re getting ready for a big weekend, with THREE celebrations in all our various communities! First, today we’re celebrating JUNETEENTH, the day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. The holiday’s name is a combination of June and nineteenth, referring to June 19, 1865, the day when the word of the end of the civil war finally reached Texas. Second, this weekend is also SUMMER SOLSTICE, marking the beginning of summer and the longest day of the year. And third, we’re also celebrating FATHER’S DAY this weekend, a holiday which celebrates fathers and all the father figures in our lives who model lives of care, compassion, and support.

When we gather for worship on Sunday, we’ll hear Jesus assure his disciples that they have no need to fear anything in this life, and that Christ will bring them new life in any situation. Please join us for prayers, songs, and communion as we join together as the Body of Christ. And please continue to keep our Call Committee in your prayers as they continue to search for the candidate that God has in mind to lead Peace Lutheran into the next chapter of its ministry!

FRIENDLY REMINDER: This Sunday is that last day to bring your donations for the VEAP Birthday Bags – we’re looking for cake mix, frosting, napkins, and other items for a child’s birthday celebration. Our Vacation Bible School Kids will be assembling these donations when they gather next week. Thank you!
