Dear Peace Members and Friends,
I’m already looking forward to Sunday!
In worship (9:30am), we will be blessed by the Peace Choir and the Sunday School Singers for the last time before the summer break and give thanks for their ministry to us throughout this last year. It is the 5th Sunday of Easter and once again we will hear a story of new life given by the risen Christ and the Holy Spirit; this time to the apostle Peter and, in turn, all the followers of Jesus from that moment onward—including us! I’ll have a sermon on the story in Acts, “Interrupted….Again and Again.”
We will also get an opportunity to meet and install the new Church Council; Josh Braband, Andy Loeffler, Holly Long, Cindy Olson, Emily Sidhom, Dave Thoen, and new members Robin Kennedy, Michelle Stockinger, and Tom Tisthammer. Our thanks and prayers go with them!
It’s also our last Adult Education session for the year (10:45am). We’ll have the second part of a two-part series on “Immigration.” Our presenter last week, Steven Thal, was terrific and our guest this week, Cori Ertz, the development director from the International Institute of Minnesota, promises to be the same. She will discuss current services provided to immigrants. Join us! A reminder: Vacation Bible School will be held June 23-26, from 9:00am-12:00pm. Registration is now open for potty-trained preschoolers through kids entering 5th grade in the fall. Parents can register their children in the Narthex on Sunday.
See you Sunday,
Mark
