Dear Peace members and friends,
This Sunday is the Day of Pentecost, a festival day in the church that comes 50 days after Easter. Pastor Joe writes: On the Day of Pentecost, we celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the entirety of the early church. This is the same Spirit that Jesus promised to his disciples—and to us. And so, filled with and empowered by the Spirit, our challenge then becomes the discernment of how we will join in the Spirit’s work of sharing God’s love with the world. I’ll have more to say on Sunday in a message entitled, “Spirited.”
Let us rejoice together as we sing hymns that speak of the Holy Spirit’s power, hear a Children’s Message, and share in the Lord’s Supper.
It’s commencement season, and this Sunday in worship (9:30am) we will recognize our 2024 high school graduates: Gavin Churchill, Ben Davis, Bianca Gehant, Parker Kennedy, and Adam Rich. We wish them all the best and ask you to hold them in your prayers as they enter the next chapter of their lives.
After worship, stay for fellowship time (10:30am) with coffee and donuts and the chance to catch up with one another.
Last, we extend birthday wishes to Milt Lefebvre who will turn 100 this coming Tuesday, May 21st! Happy birthday, Milt! We wish you well!
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
