Dear Peace members and friends of Peace,
Last weekend was quite inspiring! On Sunday we celebrated the 100th birthday of one of our members, installed the newest members of our church council, and listened to a great presentation called “A Peace of My Mind” during the Adult Forum. On top of all that, on Friday and Saturday over 350 people from the Minneapolis area gathered at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Ramsey for the annual Synod Assembly. The synod includes 137 congregations located in and around Minneapolis, from urban neighborhoods to first-tier suburbs and outlying communities beyond Hennepin County to the south, west, and north. Peace was faithfully represented by Michelle Stockinger and Andy Loeffler as the assembly worshiped, prayed, and made decisions together.
This Sunday we will gather as usual at 9:30am for worship, followed by Sunday School and fellowship. We’ll sing, pray, share Holy Communion, hear a Children’s Message, and simply celebrate our life together as a growing faith community. The reading will be from John 14, where Jesus instructs his followers to “live in God’s peace” as they live out the gospel of faith, hope, and love. See you Sunday!
