It’s Thanksgiving Weekend and the holiday season is officially upon us! Have you seen the latest edition of our Partners magazine? Take a look to see all the special activities for the whole congregation!
Many thanks to everyone who returned their Commitment Cards as we celebrated our annual Stewardship Sunday last week. Thanks, also, to all those who donated pies for our annual PIE FEST!
This week marks the beginning of the season of Advent, where we start the four week countdown to Christmas. This Sunday we’ll hear a prophecy about the coming days when “they shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation; neither shall they learn war anymore.” The reign of Christ will be a reign of peace. Until that day, we continue our efforts to bring that vision to reality.
And don’t forget that we’ll be gathering each Wednesday night in Advent for 5:30pm supper and 6:30pm service. The meals will be simple and tasty and the half-hour services will serve as a mid-week pause in the middle of the hustle of the holiday season.
