Greetings from Peace Lutheran Church!
The calendar page has turned, our clocks have been set back an hour, and we have landed in November! Last weekend we had a beautiful All Saints Sunday service where we remembered all the saints of our congregation. We lit candles, prayed prayers, and read over 100 names of our beloved departed during worship!
Last week at Confirmation we talked about the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, and then we talked about the importance of bringing that same Spirit to worship on Sunday mornings when serving as an Usher or a Greeter. On Saturday we will spend the day at Augsburg University on an “Urban Plunge” retreat – our “suburban” kids will get to experience an “urban” setting in a new way. (Did you know that the Cedar-Riverside Neighborhood is one of the most ethnically diverse neighborhoods in the entire country?) Finally, these kids wrote notes that were included in the Care Packages that were sent to all of our college age members. Also included in the care packages were pens, pencils, post-it notes, bookmarks, and other fun items! See below for pictures!

This coming Sunday at Peace we’ll be having worship as usual, where we’ll be singing, praying, and hearing a story about our God who is “not the God of the dead but the God of the living.” Afterward we’ll hold our annual “Harvest Pack” in the Fellowship Hall where we’ll pack food to be shared with those who are in need. Thanks in advance to all for your help!
Lastly, don’t forget to sign up for one of our final Listening Sessions if you haven’t already – we’ll soon be wrapping up that part of our Transition Process!
God’s Peace,
Pastor Jeff Engholm
