Dear Peace members and friends,
It’s great to be back from vacation! The time away was refreshing and renewing and I’m excited about the months ahead, seeing all of you, and making the most of the all the opportunities to grow in faith and life this fall season.
It begins this Sunday, “Gathering” Sunday. In worship (9:30am), we’ll begin a new fall sermon series: “Great Stories of the Bible.” Over the next weeks, we’ll look at some familiar Biblical stories and some not so familiar. This week, I’ll begin with a lesser-known story from the New Testament: the story of Eutychus from the book of Acts. Haven’t heard of Eutychus? Well, Luke’s story about Paul and what happened to young Eutychus at a worship service will help us and inspire us for a new year of ministry ahead. The Peace Choir will sing. There will be children’s message, Holy Communion, and a brief preview of activities ahead.
Following worship, all are invited for a brunch in the Fellowship Hall, which will also include a more extended preview from Pastor Joe and me of fall ministry.
As you may have already noted, it’s time for a new church directory. We are publishing an updated church directory including member photos. If you haven’t already done so, please take a photo of yourself, you and your spouse, or your family and e-mail it to Administrator, Lori Thomson at [email protected] along with any changes in phone numbers, home addresses, or e-mail addresses. Thank you!
Join us on Sunday as we gather once again!
Mark
