Dear Peace Lutheran Church Friends and Family,
What a great week it’s been! We just had a group of kids spend time at Camp Wapogasset, our Older Adults group had a great lunch last Thursday, and then Thursday afternoon we had a work crew help out at “VEAP Headquarters” just a short drive from Peace. Lots of fellowship, learning, and service activities for all ages!
This Sunday morning we’ll be gathering for worship in the sanctuary, conversation in the Fellowship Hall, and everything else that brings us closer together and closer to God. In our gospel reading we’ll hear a story about Jesus feeding 5,000 people with just a couple of fish and a few loaves of bread. Our guest preacher will be Rev. Anna Helgen – she’s been at Peace several times over the past year, and she will certainly bring a fresh perspective to this familiar story, as she always does!
Finally, we’re moving closer to the time when we will welcome Rev. Anne Schaefer into her new role as pastor of Peace, which means that my role as interim pastor is coming to a close. I will continue to serve at Peace through the end of August, with my final Sunday being on August 30. You can find my official letter of resignation here.
Change is in the air and God is doing a new thing! Thanks be to God who refines us, revives us, restores us to new life!
God’s Peace,
Pastor Jeff Engholm
