CYF Blast January 23, 2025

Dear Families and Friends of Peace,

Last week in Confirmation, our students discussed the section of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount called “The Beatitudes”—where Jesus invited people to change their perspective on what it meant to be God’s people and to be a part of God’s kingdom. Jesus wanted everyone to know—despite what society had said about them—that they were blessed and loved by God, and that God had made a place for them in God’s kingdom.

Inspired by this, our students then made some new Beatitudes of their own creation, and I’d love to share some of them with you today:

  • Blessed are the non-Christians, for they have, but don’t understand, God.
  • Blessed are the single mothers, for they have no one to help them raise their children.
  • Blessed are those who are invisible to society, for they will be seen by God.
  • Blessed are those that strive for goodness in a bad world, for they will have goodness in heaven.
  • Blessed are those who have nothing, for with God they will have plenty.
  • Blessed are those who bravely fight, but don’t seek harm, for they show both courage and empathy as well.
  • Blessed are the lunch staff for they do not get the appreciation they deserve.
  • Blessed are the people who do good deeds, for they often get overlooked.
  • Blessed are the volunteers, for they give of themselves for the sake of others.
  • Blessed be the people with no home, for God will be their shelter.

May you be blessed by these words, and may you know that you are blessed and loved by God—today and always.

Grace and Peace,

Joe
