CYF Blast January 4, 2024

Dear Families and Friends of Peace,

As we step into the new year, there are a lot of things that might catch us by surprise. For example, it’s already time to start planning for this summer!

Our Summer 2024 Schedule:

  • June 20-23: Family Camp at Wilderness Canoe Base
  • June 24-27: Vacation Bible School
  • July 15-20: ELCA National Youth Gathering
  • July 28-August 2: Camp Wapogasset Youth Camp
  • August 2-4: Camp Wapogasset Seeds Weekend

Wilderness Canoe Base is located 60 miles northwest of Grand Marais on the Gunflint Trail. During this extended family camp weekend, families will have the opportunity to venture into the Boundary Waters while also enjoying the amenities of staying onsite at WCB’s base camp. Lodging and meals will be provided, and each day will include morning and afternoon activities that the whole family can enjoy. Registration information and pricing will be available soon!

Vacation Bible School will be going on a deep sea adventure this year! Under the theme, Scuba, students and leaders will go “diving into friendship with God.” VBS is open to students in preschool (age 3.5+, potty-trained) through 5th grade. Middle school and high school students, in addition to adult volunteers, are invited to help lead this amazing week. Registration will open in early April.

The ELCA National Youth Gathering will be hosted in New Orleans, LA, this year, and Peace will be sending 10 students (in grades 8-12) and 3 adult leaders. Please consider supporting our students with your prayers and finances in the coming months as we prepare for our trip!

Camp Wapogasset provides students with the opportunity to come together with friends and neighbors from all across Minnesota and Wisconsin. Between the field games, water activities, Bible studies, and campfire worships, it is a fast-paced experience filled with fun.

  • Students currently in 1st-3rd grade can attend the 3-day Seeds session.
  • Cost is $260, with a $150 deposit due at registration.
  • Students currently in 4th-8th grade can attend a week of Youth Camp.
