Dear Peace Parents and Families,
As we move through November and daylight “savings” time has hit, it’s clear that warm and colorful fall has officially become cold and dull fall. For me personally, all the seasonal change can be pretty challenging–especially as it gets so dark so early.
I have a distinct memory from a few years ago that describes my viewpoint on late fall well. Looking for something to help improve my mood, I went to Bed Bath and Beyond to purchase a “S.A.D. Lamp.” But when I asked an employee where to find one, they quickly and exuberantly responded, “You mean a Happy Light!?”
It’s all a matter of perspective, I suppose…
However you might experience things this season, something that gets me out of the late fall funk is doing acts of kindness and service for others. It’s hard not to smile when making others smile too!
And so it’s in that spirit that we invite you and your families to take part in Harvest Pack this Sunday, November 12. The congregation will come together (over 100 of us!) right after worship to pack over 10,000 meals for nearby neighbors in the metro area. It’s a great act of service that will make a big difference in the lives of many.
And I hope it’s something that makes a difference in your life too. Because when we share God’s love, we realize how much God loves us too—and that’s something that’s sure to brighten anyone’s day.
Grace and Peace,
Joe
