Dear Peace Parents and Families,
We’re just one week away—Trunk or Treat is almost here!
Next Saturday, October 28, from 3:30-4:30pm (people hosting trunks should arrive at 3:00pm), we are so excited to welcome kids and families from all across our neighborhood and community for this event. With your help, we hope to greet them with a wonderful and joyous hospitality, which will include plenty of candy, smiles, and laughs—and I’m sure there will be plenty of all three to go around!
If Trunk or Treat is new to you, it is much like Trick or Treating—except instead of going house to house around the neighborhood, kids go from trunk to trunk around cars parked in the Peace parking lot. Kids dress up in their costumes, and we invite those hosting trunks to dress up and decorate their cars too.
If you’re wondering if this event is for you—it is!
We want this to be an intergenerational event where parents and grandparents can join in the fun with their kids and grandkids, and where people of all ages can participate in the delight of passing out candy and hosting a trunk.
This is also designed to be a community event; please invite your friends, teammates, classmates, neighbors, extended families, and whomever else you think might want to enjoy an amazing Saturday afternoon.
If you haven’t been able to attend the last few years, come and enjoy it this year. I guarantee you’ll be glad you did and that it will put a smile on your face; and if it doesn’t, I’ll have some extra candy for you, and that should do the trick!
This event is an opportunity to share God’s love with our neighbors, one piece of candy at a time, and I hope you’ll join in the experience.
In the meantime, I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable MEA weekend!
Grace and Peace,
Joe
