Dear Peace Members and Friends,
I’m looking forward to being back in worship with you on Sunday. We will continue our Epiphany worship series, “Jesus Rediscovered.” We have made our way through just some of the different Jesus’ that I, and maybe you, have known: friend, teacher, Savior, Lord, and way. This Sunday, we’ll look at another Jesus; “Jesus….As Presence.” What does it mean to say, Jesus is “present”? How do we experience Jesus’ presence? I’ll say more on Sunday.
Following worship, the Education Hour will start (10:45am), and we’ll continue with the second of a three-part series, “On Faith and Justice with ‘A Peace of My Mind.'” Through videos and stories, A Peace of My Mind founder, John Noltner, will help us rediscover what connects us, bridge divides, and build community.
Thank you for your continuing support for the well-being of others. This week, VEAP reported that they have plenty of diapers. Thank you! However, they are in need of laundry detergent and dishwashing soap.
One further note: like you, I’ve been reading and hearing of the earthquake devastation in Turkey and Syria. Beginning in Lent (February 22nd) and through Holy Week, we’ll be given an opportunity to help allay the staggering suffering through the work of Lutheran World Relief. I’ll have more information next week.
See you Sunday!
Mark
