Dear Peace members and friends,
It’s a big Sunday ahead! The Annual Congregational Meeting of Peace Lutheran Church will take place in the Parish Hall, beginning at 10:45am. At this meeting, both a proposed budget for 2024 and new Council members will be voted upon; Pastors’, Committees, and President’s reports will be offered. All members of Peace are encouraged to attend!
Before the meeting we will gather for worship (9:30am). As we near the end of the church season of Epiphany, our Gospel readings feature a number of Jesus’ healing stories and call stories. On Sunday, we have one which features both: Mark’s vivid story of Jesus healing and calling a very disturbed man who’s living in a cemetery. I’ll say more about this story and what it means for our health and living in a message, “Jesus’ Health Care Plan.”
In worship, it’s also a very unusual music morning. We will welcome a special guest musician (be sure to get to church in time for the Prelude!) and the young Alleluia Singers will offer their music. You won’t want to miss them all.
Last of all, the season of Lent is fast approaching (Ash Wednesday is February 14th). As part of our traditional Lenten observance, congregational members contribute a brief daily word and prayer in a Lenten Devotional booklet that will be available to all via e-mail or print. Contributions are still needed. Instructions and sign-up are available in the church narthex or by calling the church office (952.944.6510). The Lenten Devotional Booklet is a source of encouragement to many others. I thank you ahead of time.
See you Sunday!
Mark
