Dear Peace Lutheran Church Friends and Family,
This Sunday morning at worship we’ll hear the familiar story from the gospel of Matthew about the Sower and the Seeds: “Some seeds fell among the weeds, some fell on rocky soil, some fell in shallow soil, and some fell in good soil where it grew, blossomed, and flourished.” It’s a parable that you’ve probably heard numerous times, and yet in these old stories there’s always something new to be gleaned. (Did you see what I did there? With “gleaned”? Which means “harvest”? Get it?)
Our guest preacher, Rev. Stephanie Luedtke, will certainly bring some new insights into this familiar story. Stephanie is not only an ordained pastor, but also a leadership coach, consultant, educator, and creator whose work integrates creativity, learning, and community development. Please share your best “Peace Lutheran Church Welcome” when you see her on Sunday!
Also, don’t forget about the Congregational Meeting after worship on Sunday [July 12] to vote on Peace’s next pastor. Further details about the candidate will be shared at the meeting to help the congregation make a faithful, informed decision about calling her.
