E-Note July 7, 2023

Dear Peace Members and Friends of Peace,

Sometimes life can change with only a few words. You hear the words, “I love you,” and your life will never be the same. Or you hear the announcement, “you have a new baby daughter (or son)” and your life changes immediately. And, as we discovered last week in church, the St. Paul’s life changed dramatically when he was interrupted by God and heard the words, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”  His life was turned upside down and Saul soon became Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles and to us.

This Sunday in worship (9:30am), when we continue with the sermon series, “The Life and Ministry of the Apostle Paul” we’ll hear more life-changing words. Ananias, reaching out to Paul in his post-conversion daze, says, Brother Saul” and Paul’s life, Ananias’ life, and the life of the church is forever changed. I’ll tell you why these two little words are extraordinary for you and for me on Sunday in a sermon entitled, When God Interrupts the Church.” Also in worship, we’ll also share in Holy Communion, have a Children’s Message, and Mark Pladson will sing during the offering.

Two reminders to all of you about a future social event and an ongoing growth opportunity. One, we’ll be having a Barbeque and Trivia Night this coming Tuesday, July 11th. Information and sign-up is below. Come and join us for some great fun!

And two, Adult Evening Bible Study continues on Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00pm. For these next weeks we’ll begin our study with a 10-minute video from the series, “Discovering the Gospel in Every Book of The Bible” with Pastor Tim Keller. This Wednesday’s video clip will be “Discovering the Gospel in Leviticus.” The video and discussion will be followed by a review of this Sunday’s reading and topic and a preview of next Sunday’s Scripture reading and topic. All are welcome at any time to this lively group!

See you in worship!

Mark
