Dear Peace Members and Friends,
We have an exciting Sunday this weekend! Along with Mother’s Day, it is the 6th Sunday of Easter as well as the last day of Sunday School for this school year.
There’s a lot happening in worship! Both the children’s musical groups—the Sunday School Singers and the Alleluia Singers—will take their part. We’ll share Holy Communion around the altar, sing Easter hymns, and thank our Sunday School Staff for ministry well done. I’ll have a message on one—if not the most important—ingredients for thriving and loving family relationships. There’s also this wonderful surprise: at the beginning of worship we will bless the new sanctuary piano. A great Sunday ahead!
In Sunday Adult Education (10:45am), we will welcome Peace member and Apple Valley police officer, Adam Tschida. He will discuss the current state of safety in our neighborhoods and communities.
All of you continue to extend the grace and generosity of God to others. I received this note from Emma Wagner from Lutheran World Relief: “Dear people of Peace, Thank you for your recent gift to Lutheran World Relief. Your love is being put to work right away caring for our neighbors around the world. I am so grateful for your partnership in this work. In gratitude, signed Emma Wagner, Manager for Congregational Engagement.” Thanks to all of you!
Also, I pass on the reminder of our ongoing ministry with the local ministry of VEAP. There’s a bin in the narthex in which you can put items at any time which the Service and Mission Committee will get over to VEAP. Most-needed items continue to be: Laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, and personal care items (shampoo, toothpaste hand soap, shaving cream, and toiletries). In the name of Jesus Christ, thank you for your continued care for our neighbors!
See you Sunday!
Mark
