CYF Blast May 2, 2024

Dear Families and Friends of Peace,

Typically in the Children, Youth, and Family Blast, I try not to get too far ahead of myself. I want us to stay present in the moment and focused on the things at hand–and I definitely don’t want other important things to get overlooked or feel undervalued.

However, just like with parlay, sometimes it’s necessary to break the code–“they’re more like guidelines” anyway. (“Pirates of the Caribbean,” anyone?? And to the parent readers, if you want to feel old like I did upon seeing this, the original “Pirates” came out 21 years ago back in 2003…)

That said, while there are wonderful, important, and meaningful things happening over this next week, but I want to make sure that you are all prepared for Sunday, May 12–because there will be A LOT going on throughout the morning that day.

First, next Sunday is Mother’s Day, and we will take some time to pray for and thank the moms and motherly figures in our lives.

The Sunday School Singers will help us praise God during worship as they sing, “For the Beauty of the Earth.” Parents, please have your students to Peace at 9:00am for rehearsal, which will begin promptly in the sanctuary at 9:10am.

Toward the end of worship, during the Community News, we will thank the abundance of people who have helped lead our Children, Youth, and Family Ministries with our Teacher and Leader Recognition:

  • Sunday School teachers and substitute teachers
  • Confirmation adult leaders
  • Leaders of our youth and young adult ministries
  • Directors of our music ministries
  • Volunteer Nursery attendants

Finally, May 12 is also the last day of Sunday School for the 2023-2024 school year. It’s been a fantastic year together, and I’m so thankful for all of our wonderful students, for all of our incredible teachers and substitutes, and for all our great parents who continue to invest in the faith formation of their children.

Glory to God for all the blessings we’ve shared together, and for the blessings yet to come!

Grace and Peace,

Joe
