Dear Peace Members,
After some time away, I’m looking forward to being with you on Sunday. Before saying more about that, however, a word of thanks to Rev. Alan Loose for leading worship last week. I know that many of you share with me gratitude for Alan and his presence among us. Thanks, Alan!
There’s a bit of a reunion this Sunday. I’m back and participating in worship and Pastor Joe also returns to worship following his paternity leave. A summer Peace Choir group will offer an anthem, Pastor Joe a children’s message, we’ll share in Holy Communion, sing our praises to God, and gather following worship to meet and catch up with one another.
Also on Sunday, we will conclude a series of Sunday sermons on the life and ministry of the Apostle Paul. As far as we know, Paul’s story concludes with the apostle under house arrest in Rome. We wonder: how does it all end for Paul? Does Paul’s life end with a whimper? What were the last chapters of Paul’s life really like? We all want to live joyfully, productively, our whole lives. Paul’s life has something for us all. I’ll say more in a message entitled, “Ending Well.”
It’s mid-August and fall and fall activities and school (even earlier this year!) loom. Just a reminder that Rally Day here at Peace is Sunday, September 10th. Mark it on your calendar! Further information will be coming soon in our fall newsletter.
See you Sunday,
Mark
