Dear Peace Members and Friends of Peace,
I hope that you’re staying cool this week! Even though it’s the middle of the summer, there’s a lot going on at Peace.
This Sunday (9:30am), we have the joy of welcoming to the Church in baptism, Kaibigan Hawkins Del Rosario Thomson, the son of Jimmy Thomson and Arielle Del Rosario, and the grandson of Jim and Lori Thomson. We will continue with our sermon series, “The Life and Ministry of the Apostle Paul” and I’ll read “A Letter from Paul to Kai on the Day of his Baptism.” We’ll have a children’s message and gather around the altar for Holy Communion. A great Sunday ahead!
It’s an exciting week ahead! Sunday afternoon, 9 Peace youth (4th-8th Graders) will head to Camp Wapogasset’s Youth Camp in Amery, WI for the week. The Peace youth are: Trevor Budz, Emery Byers, Kiya Losinski, Myla Macejkovic, Elsa Oman, Sofia Oman, Asher Rogers, Ayla Rogers, and Addison Tschida. We join together in praying for a blessed and fun time for all!
Last of all, you may remember that, in response to a plea for food for our struggling neighbors, we took a special offering in worship (with all sorts of help from the kids!), a couple of weeks ago. You gave $996.25! This week, I received a letter from Kari Thompson, the CEO of VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People) saying, in part: “From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your recent support of VEAP….Every week, hundreds of people visit our food pantry….your donation directly helps us to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads…we truly could not do this work without you—thank you.” And I thank you, too!
See you Sunday!
Mark
