Dear Peace Members and Friends,
The season of spring seems to be (finally!) here. I hope that all of you, in some way, are able to enjoy it. Open up a window, take a walk, ride a bike—all to relish in the greening up of God’s earth once again.
The season of Easter continues this coming Sunday with some of the most memorable words of Jesus: “Do not let your hearts be troubled, believe in God, believe also in me….I am the way, the truth, and the life.” These words and this Gospel offer to us a treasure trove of assurance and guidance in our walk with the Risen Christ. I will say more on Sunday in a message entitled, “The Way, the Truth, and the Life.” Along with a Children’s Message, the hymns of Easter, Holy Communion, and the Peace Choir, I look forward to Sunday’s worship together.
In Sunday Adult Education (10:45am), we will welcome Rick Kaufman, Executive Director of Community Relations and Emergency Management for Bloomington Public Schools. He will join us to discuss these challenges. Mr. Kaufman comes with a with range of experience; providing counsel to those responding to events in Uvalde, at Sandy Hook and Columbine, among many others.
Last of all, a reminder of tomorrow’s funeral service at Peace for Mark Jacobson at 2:00pm, preceded by a visitation at 1:00pm. Our condolences continue to be extended to his wife, Jill, and his daughters, Katie and Megan. Blessed be his memory.
See you Sunday!
Mark
