Dear Peace members and friends,

This In Sunday afternoon and early evening is another “Congregational Care Call.” What is a “congregational care call”? Sometime between 4:00 and 8:00pm today, a fellow member/Council member of Peace will contact you by phone with the simple question, “How are you?” There will be no requests for you to do anything; this is just a phone call to hear how you’re managing. We look forward to contacting you, along with all the members of Peace.

This week in worship (9:30am), we continue in our sermon series, “Great Stories of the Bible” with the Old Testament story of Moses on a mountain looking out over the Promised Land, a land he would not be able to enter. It’s a strange end to a mighty life. We think Moses deserved better and, truth be told, so do we. If you have known life’s frustrations; if you know something of the unfinished business of life; we can all learn from Moses about how to cope with life’s frustrations and unfinished business. I’ll say more in a message entitled, “Living with Life’s Incompleteness: The Story of Moses on Mount Pisgah.”

Also, the Sunday School children and Peace Choir will sing and we’ll celebrate the baptisms of Maevi Jo Connelly, the daughter of Brian and Emily Connelly and Mason Lee Vander Stelt, the son of Jason Vander Stelt and Toni Davidson.

And on Sunday in Adult Educationwe will continue the series, “How We Can Feed the Future.” With fast-moving climate change and more and frequent conflicts, millions of people are increasingly left without daily bread to sustain their lives. In Sunday’s forum will continue to study food with the assistance of some TED Talks; short topics on food and food security by expert speakers in the field. Come join us for this important conversation!

See you Sunday!
